September 5  •  Let Your Life Speak  •   Rev. Ernest L. Mills, Jr.
This talk is part of the launching of our Covenant Circles. We all have a story to tell and our story forms our identity and purpose of being. The Covenant Circle is one more way to learn how to speak your life and tell your life story.

September 12  •  Mark Twain and Politics: A Diatribe  •   Rev. Ernest L. Mills, Jr.
Politicians and idiots . . . oh, I repeated myself. This comment highlights how Twain felt about politicians. We will preview some more of Twain's satirical criticisms of politics and perhaps discover we secretly share them.

September 19  •   The Spirituality of Community Organizing   •   Monroe Gilmour
My Daddy has a job but I don't know what it is. So wrote Monroe Gilmour's son, David, in his first grade writing journal many years ago. And David is not alone. In 2008, what community organizers do became a part of the national dialogue during the Presidential campaign. Monroe will explain community organizing by exploring the spirituality that forms the basis for his work. From India to Africa to Tennessee and North Carolina, Monroe has been active in social justice and environmental work for over four decades. The lessons he has learned about life as well as about organizing will be shared with us. And maybe we'll even find out what he does.

September 26  •  My View of Spirituality  •  Merle Foeckler
Merle will discuss some of her experiences and needs that she has for her spiritual growth, her inspiration from beauty, art and poetry, as well as helping others and encouraging them in their spiritual journeys. One of the pitfalls which should be avoided is that of making judgments and criticism of others, since this will most certainly stifle a person's spiritual growth.
